A friend is a special person. A person who stands by you. A person who never leaves your side. I know parents are always telling us that friends will come and go, but friends are more then that, especially when you have two younger siblings that you fight with.
One day I was sitting having dinner with my family, when I was told I had to move to Argentina. A million thoughts raced through my head. I could fell tears dripping down my cheeks. I was not crying about the fact that I had to leave my home town, or the fact that I would have to speak Spanish. No. I was crying because I would have to leave my friends.
When I got to school the next morning, I knew I would have to break the news. When I did, the expressions, the hugging and the shock was so bad I wish I had never said anything. The next month the word spread, soon everyone knew. My friends kept telling me that they would miss me, they would give me presents and soon I was the center of attention.
I am not one of those people who thinks of friends as just people to hang out with. I think of my friends as family. I happen to have many friends, close ones, old ones, new ones.
But I have four really close ones. Three go to my school, there names are Claire, Ruby, and Else. Claire is a surfer she is also understanding, humorous, and a future broadway star. Ruby is
dramatic, artistic, and is also a future broadway star. Else is pretty, kind, athletic, and a future ice skater. I also am friends with a girl who does not go to my school but we are still very close. Her name is Siena. She is enthusiastic, funny, kind, and loves to dance.
As you can see, I am very close with my friends. I know that now-a-days there is email, WhatsApp, and all sorts of cool ways to connect. But as my mom always says, “you can never have a connection with someone only via the internet.”
I know that good friends will remain in your heart no matter how far away you are from each other.
Ella, that blog post was so sweet.-It sent tears out of my eyes. Thanks for writing that I was a future broadway star and a surfer. Miss you. -Claire
